One more week of comfort and relaxation on BART before....

We have one more week of comfort and relaxation on BART before some local universities begin. After that, lots will be more packed, seats will no longer be vacant, trains in general will just be more crowded and tighter. Then after Labor Day weekend, parking lots will be over max capacity like pre-summer days, and there will be limited standing room on trains again.

The summer months are just so pleasant because we get to experience a more leisurely BART experience due to everyone taking vacations, colleges being out on break, people minimizing their work hours...etc. It's been a nice break from the typical hectic peak commute scene! :)

It'll be tough to say goodbye to these pleasant days. Enjoy this week, everyone!

oh no, seats will be taken, the horror. the nerve of those who think they have the same right to a seat as you do....

i'm just saying that it's nice when there are actually seats left. no one is entitled to anything. of course if you ask me do you like sitting or standing on BART better, i'd tell you that i think sitting is more pleasant. but does that mean i feel entitled? no. does that mean i don't stand mostly everyday? no. it's just been a nice break from the crowded conditions, thats all.

Sad to say, there are people standing in the morning when the train pulls in to my station, Castro Valley. Which means there are people standing when the train leaves the very first station on the line! I'd say it can't get worse, but you know how that goes!

I look it at the other way, the more patrons that are standing means more money for BART, which I hope in turn would mean improvements for the system, cars and most of all the ridership. So standing room only (cept for those pregnant BART bloggers) is a good thing during commute, even though it is rather uncomfortable and can result in a long ride to and from work.

true true, very true! as long as they are putting the extra money into actual improvements!

Good point! It has been nice lately, at least at Fruitvale. The parking and trains have been great the past month or so. Why'd you have to burst my bubble like that, haha.
