Getting territorial at the Civic Center station

There seems to be an increase in station performers these days. Today, a female guitarist/singer with a dog got upset at 2 younger guitarists for getting too close to her "zone". In the short conversation that I overheard, she was saying that there are some rules around here and that they need to find another area in the opposite of the station because she is typically here on Wednesdays while Joe (?) is here on Thursdays.

Interesting. Her dog must have sensed her frustration and loudly barked at the "intruders". She said to them, "he is telling you to leave". The 2 young guitarists gave her a look and went looking for another corner to occupy.

If it was the same person I saw this morning then it was the first time I've seen her there. She was in the spot where the accordion + top hat + dog guy usually is. Occasionally there is banjo music or Andean music there.

Yes! Erik! I was thinking the same thing...I've never seen her before, it's usually the other guy that's there! Maybe she knew the two guys are newbies so she knew how to shoo them away.

I like the musicians and usually give them money. I never give money to panhandlers but if they are even half way good, I give to musicians.

What is the deal with the Scientology booth that is in Berkeley all the time?

Does BART get paid by them? Because it not it seems like it should be illegal for these cultists to set up several card tables and use the area as a place to recruit followers.

"Just a nickel and smile will last a long while."

Anyone else know that guy? I wonder what his story is...

I heard that these "street performers" are actually part of one of the BART unions and they make $96,000 per year.
