Wow, don't forget to check out the "ad movie" on BART!

Did you guys read this? BART will debut a "moving" ad placed in between Embarcadero and Montgomery, made up of a series of posters. It's supposed to look like a moving picture when the train speeds along. I have to be sure to check it out tomorrow between Embarcadero and Montgomery! On a side note, I'm ALL for more ads on BART! I don't care. I'm sitting there anyways...if they can generate more ad revenues, perhaps one day they will decrease ticket fare (hey, one can hope!) or at the least, not increase it!!

I saw this ad for the first time yesterday evening. It was pretty clever, although I noticed that I was the only person looking at it...

I've tried looking for it, but didn't see anything. Then again, with the tunnel being so dark & the windows tinted - is it worth it? I suppose in BART's point of view "it's money we need", but for the company, is it a waste?

OH! So it's leaving Montgomery going towards Embarcadero, on the left side! I've got it all wrong. Will try that next time!

BART didn't pay for it, this is a "test" and if BART (not sure who or what group) does not like it, then I understand it will come down.

Saw it the past two days, but I don't recall many others seeing it or paying attention. I like it, personally it's something to look at in the darkened tunnels.

The ad was placed by Side Track Technologies and have a 1 year agreement with BART, if successful, I guess we could see more tunnel advertising.

"The displays combine traditional animation theory with advanced
digital technologies, and are composed of 375 individually illuminated poster boards. At speed,
the images blend together and the riders perceive the blended images as a 15 second “video wall”
or ‘movie’ outside the train window."

YOu can read more at www.SideTrack.ca

I finally saw it today! It was so hard to view. No one even paid attention to it. I freaked an older woman by the window out because she thought I was staring at her.

Not sure if this is worth the $$. Maybe if the tunnel is properly lighted or if BART train windows aren't so heavily tinted!

After all the hype, I have to admit I was a little disappointed. I do think it's neat but definitely has potential to have more impact!
