Thank goodness that many people still have not yet returned from their holidays because parking and BART today was extremely smooth and stress-free. In addition to finding a great space immediately, BART was on time, and there were even a couple seats left. Furthermore, everyone seemed to be in a fairly good mood; wearing new clothes they bought or received for the holidays, carrying new purses, wearing new ties or shoes, and feeling well rested.
I still have a recovering case of post-holiday depression but overall, I am ready to tackle the new year.
Happy 2008, everyone. Here's to a smooth year of BART commuting.
Happy New Year! I haven't posted any comments here before, but I'm a regular reader of the blog and enjoy the posts and discussions about our shared experiences on BART. Thanks for providing the forum.
Bill, thanks for reading. Look forward to more thoughts from you this year!
I, like many folks, have opted to work from home for the remainder of the week. The predictions for the massive storm tomorrow and Friday have just reinforced this plan.
I expect Monday to be the day we get back to the big grind. I see that we are also now on the new schedule and fare structures. Doesn't look like my usual train(s) have changed...
I think you are right, concordcommuter. Next Monday will be the true Day 1 back at work and that'll be the day when the lots and trains are packed. About 50% of people here at work are not back yet. I'll enjoy this more relaxing pace while I can!
